Personal Development

UTC Personal Growth

At UTC we want our students to believe in themselves growing in confidence and maturity.  We also want them to understand the importance of self reflection.

Students are to gain emotional intelligence and feel empowered to seek support and advice when necessary.

Ultimately, we aspire for them to grow to be a responsible member of the academy and wider community making positive decisions in their own and others’ lives.

Mental Health

UTC is focused on evidence-based solutions which address pupils and parents/carers needs; the development of a professional community of school mental health experts; and leading change within the area of mental health.

Our work focuses on:

  • Providing support and guidance for all our stakeholders, including professional development for our staff.

  • Professional Membership for School Mental Health Leads. We have a fully qualified Senior Mental Health lead based at UTC and mental health trained support from our trust.

  • Collaboration with strategic partners to develop provision and support for our college.

  • Mental Health Cluster Meetings to profile innovative and proven work, deepen understanding and support the link between policy and practice.
